Ebony sheets

I had a mission to find sheets for my sister! I said that I would buy a set of black Sheridan sheets for her for her birthday. Specifically, Sheridan Superior Soft Sheets, 400 thread count Supima cotton sateen, Queen Sized in Ebony. See right for Sheridan's image of the sheets in white. Of course they had heaps last week but had sold out at Myer Perth on Tuesday when I went to buy a set.

Initially I did not think it would be an issue, as the stocktake sale runs until the end of January and in previous years they have received new stock during the sale. However the lady at Myer did a ring around for me to other Perth stores. She could not find any and her head office told her that they were deleted.

So... I tried Sheridan Subiaco. They had none and also told me they were deleted. (The use of the phrase deleted in this context reminds me of Doctor Who and the call of the Cybermen as they try to "Delete" everything they do not like!)
I went into David Jones Perth and they also had sold out of the size.
I called Garden City this morning, with no luck. I then called Karrinyup where they amazingly had a few sets still. They put one away for me and I was saved!!

So tonight was a dash up to Karrinyup. I am a little wary of Thursday night shopping as I have the impression that it is busy, however there were enough spare spots in the car park tonight to cause me no stress.

I also spent my birthday voucher tonight. I bought myself a sports bra. I was given a gift voucher for a particular lingerie chain and one that I do not normally enter as I find their displays cluttered and suffocating. I have to admit that the shop at Karrinyup is a lot brighter and breezier, as the shops in that centre tend to be.

I have been popping into their stores for a while, although not very frequently as I do not often shop at large shopping centres where they usually have their stores! Every time I have looked they have never had my size. Usually they have sizes for girls who do not particularly need them or for girls who probably need something more robust. Although I guess those girls would probably say that I do not need one either!

I have recently realised that my sports bras on average are offering limited support due to advanced age. This, coupled with the fact that the voucher was nearing its expire date, spurred me on to make myself talk to a lingerie saleslady.

I found a bra in the style that I like, however I am not convinced that the size is correct for a sports bra - it fits, but is a size larger than I would normally buy (go figure) so I reserve my judgement until I get to test it in anger out on the pavement.

I have a preference for the Berlei bras for a while; I bought a Berlei New Legend. One of the features that I liked about it was that you can convert it to a cross back. Nice! The saleslady also showed me a different brand of sports bra, the front was padded and the fabric looked like it would sweat mightily so I declined trying that one on.

PS That is not me in the picture. That is the Berlei girl from the Berlei website.
PPS Berlei have an even more expensive one called High Performance. That's me!! I will have to try that next...
